Making Patterns

In maths we have been learning how to make different patterns.

"This is my pattern.  It is red, yellow, blue."

Recount Writing

I have been learning to add details to my story writing.  This is my story about our trip to Ambury Farm.

"I went to Ambury Farm.  I saw a cow.  I saw a horse."

Ambury Farm

We went on a trip to Ambury Farm.  We saw some animals and we got to feed them.  The animals gave us kisses on our hands when we were feeding them.  Ranger Meredith showed us how they get rid of sheep dags (which we learnt was dry poo).  Then we watched as a cow was being milked.

"I liked the cow the best."

Soccer Skills Workshop

We had a soccer workshop.  We went out on the field and played lots of games.  We got to kick the ball around.

"I am playing statues.  It was so much fun!"

Retelling a Story

We are learning to retell a story that we have read.  This is a story we read during our guided reading lesson.

"Dad kicked the ball and it went over the fence.  They looked and looked and it was up in a tree."

Self Portrait

We have been learning to make good colour choices.

First we drew a picture of our faces, then we chose colours to match our faces and coloured in our picture.  We then glued the face onto another piece of paper that we dyed the day before.  Next we coloured in a piece of paper for our hair and cut it out.  The last thing we did was glue the hair onto our picture.

"I found it easy to colour in the hair and I found it hard to put the hair on."

Maths

We are learning to make sets to ten.

"I have 5 yellow counters and 5 red counters so I have 10 altogether."

Storywriting

We have been learning to make our pictures match our story.

"This is my sister and me.  She is walking down our driveway."

Reading Strategies

We are learning to identify the different parts of a book.

"This is the front cover."
